I recently commented on the nature of the Chinese state at https://johnriddell.com/2020/05/03/china-sets-the-pace/; see in particularly the paragraphs entitled “A Necessary Discussion.” Rereading these paragraphs a year later, I believe I did not adequately stress the importance of direction of motion, that is, in what direction the Chinese state is evolving over time. On this point I believe China’s experience during the Covid-19 pandemic is very instructive.

The additional Black liberation movement was in C.L.R. James and his work internationally with the Trotskyist IV International.
The conceptual links with the Jewish Bundist programme of National-Culutral Autonomy were made evident. This is now the case with the new coalitions forming up in the USA which bring the Jewish Bund together with the Panther movements of Blacks, First Nations and Mexicas. We are called the United Inter-National Communalist Convergence.
