In reply to <a href="https://johnriddell.com/2020/10/18/quebecs-october-crisis-1970/#comment-18240">Roy Hunter Jones</a>.

In my view, the U.S.-led campaign in Korea was both a war of colonial conquest and an assault on the Chinese People's Republic. This war was fueled by the anti-Communist hysteria of the U.S. right wing during that period, associated with Joseph McCarthy. Some socialists at that time characterized the McCarthy movement as a US form of fascism. I watched Dr. Strangelove again last week and was startled by the close resemblance in mood to today's conditins -- for example the role of conspiracy theories (fluoridation).

Given that the capitalist attacked Rosa Luxemburg and started to bring in fascist measures to maintain capitalism, would you agree that the US military involvment in Korea in the 50's and South East Asia in the 60's (the Vietnam war) was a fascist act, a "continuation of politics by other means"? I am not suggesting this fascism by the US was the same as in Germany or Italy in the 30's, but a similar event under a different face: Fascism with a friendly face (I believe Professor Edward Herman used that term).
