I just joined the site so forgive me if I am stating the obvious but it seems to me that one element that is worth extended discussion and development in terms of current issues is the transitional program. The Left (in Greece and elsewhere ) need to develop demands and programs that channel current popular anger and concern into potentially broad alliances that go beyond "minimal" demands of the moment and bring people to confront the real need and possibility of challenging the capitalist economic-political system itself.

So in Greece ANTARSYA and other elements working from the left of SYRIZA need to create tactical and strategic goals and processes that accomplish this - i.e. a transitional program. Perhaps part of the answer in Greece lies in less emphasis on an intransigent insistence on an immediate break with the EU and euro and more emphasis on the simply maintaining the strongest possible resistance to the Austerity Program in immediate and longer terms while always openly acknowledging that this may require the EU/euro break. The idea is to maintain pressure on SYRIZA while also trying to provide them with additional tactical space in confronting the EU and the establishment parties.

Excellent presentation. Surely a major part of this study of the Comintern discussions is to de-scripturalise discussions about revolutionary strategy and help the left return to materialism. The diversity of positions and broadness of debate in the 3rd and 4th Comintern congresses reveals a revolutionary tradition that sharply contrasts with the scriptural, point-scoring and know-it-all over factiousness that typifies too much of the revolutionary left today.
