In other words, the revolutionary left is so afraid of “opportunism” that it refuses to even consider taking political power in the existing capitalist state at any level — local, state, and national — because the capitalist state cannot be used by the working class, for the working class, which in practice is the anarchist position. Instead, we’ll just complain when non-revolutionary forces use those levers of power against the interests of the 99%. Very revolutionary!

Even personal questions need candid answers. This should be the code of action of any Communist Party. The flaws of socialism much as those of capitalism need to be addressed without ‘going around in circles’. Evasion only implies guilt.
